Genetic Originals (GOs) are humans whose reproduction and biology remain unchanged from 21st-century practices. They carry no implants, genetic modifications, or cortical enhancements — though some may later choose augmentation. Many GOs belong to TroughCults or other communities that actively reject technology.
Soo Lingg

A human monk acolyte without implants or enhancements of any kind. Soo is a student of Master Hun and a devoted follower of old Tibetan traditions. An orphan of a culture that rejected all technology, Soo was raised entirely within the monastery system.
Soo appears to exhibit extraordinary empathetic and telepathic powers — abilities consistent with the monastery's teaching of SixthSensing. Whether these abilities are supernatural or a highly refined form of human perception remains open.

The senior monk at the Lhasa Monastery and Soo Lingg's personal master. Master Hun is responsible for training Soo in SixthSensing — the meditative discipline of empathic and telepathic perception. He represents the highest authority within the monastic tradition.

Soo Lingg's childhood friend, raised together at the Lhasa Monastery. Though Ffookhago began life as a pure Genetic Original, he departed the monastery and subsequently underwent a series of medical and technological procedures that enhanced his brain's capacity for reasoning and knowledge storage. His transition makes him a bridge figure between the GO and augmented worlds.
Qerid M'khogij

Occupation: Paleontological researcher; HighEd graduate
A Bali-born Genetic Original who has since accepted cortical enhancement. Qerid seeks ancient life fossils on planets within the HomeWorld solar system. As a HighEd graduate she is fluent in the technologies of the era and uses them extensively in her research.
Hunfe' Gvuyo

Qerid's closest friend from childhood. Hunfe' Gvuyo is the character who initiates the WorldDate event that draws the core group of characters together.
Mooma Geao
Relation: Qerid's aunt
Occupation: Co-owner, Dementias nightclub (Bali)
Half-owner of the Bali nightclub Dementias. Mooma is deeply proud of her family's genetically unbroken lineage — 200 consecutive generations of Genetic Originals. This pride defines her identity and her investment in the club's philosophy.
Uncle Nitrand
Relation: Qerid's uncle
Occupation: Co-owner, Dementias nightclub (Bali)
The other half-owner of Dementias. Uncle Nitrand refuses to permit any technology inside the club — a deliberate design choice that includes integrating live wildlife as part of the venue's atmosphere. His philosophy echoes the GO commitment to unmediated experience.
